1. Overviews
The Department of Finance is a specialized unit under the Faculty of Finance – Accounting, established since the establishment of the Faculty of Finance – Accounting under Decision No. 449/QD-NTT, dated September 21st/ 2016 on the basis of merging the Faculty of Finance and Banking and the Faculty of Accounting and Auditing, oriented towards practical application, meeting the standards according to the quality assurance standards of the training program of the Ministry of Education and Training and at the same time meet the standards of AUN – QA. The Finance – Banking Department of Nguyen Tat Thanh University conducted quality accreditation according to the AUN-QA general quality assurance standard in September 2019. Students majoring in Finance – Banking with knowledge and skills close to the practical needs of society, strictly follow the motto “Practice – Practice – Practice – Practice”. Currently, there are a lot of people who misunderstand about the Finance – Banking industry, studying finance and banking will default to positions in the bank? This is not true because the fact shows that the new financial sector is one of the fields and professions with a great demand for labor in all economies and is increasingly chosen by young people to pursue.
The Department of Finance orients the development of training and business connection. During the study process of students majoring in Finance – Banking, you are actually arranged by the Department in a corporate environment in the field of Finance. Module example: Securities analysis and investment, the Department has close links with businesses so that students can learn the theory to grasp the basic knowledge, besides, they also study business and direct teachers. participate in the virtual stock market sponsored by enterprises. Or the Internship course, is a module for students to choose the right environment to work in after graduation, students of Finance – Banking can not only participate in Internships at banks but also get participate in financial companies and businesses related to the financial sector. 3. Science:
Orientation of the subject’s research topics in the fields related to issues of Finance. All faculty members of the Department are actively involved in scientific research through seminars on Finance – Banking organized by the university. In addition, the department also opens academic discussions. Aim to guide and “inspire” students to participate in scientific research competitions organized by the university and other units. Example: The Euréka Scientific Research Student Contest is organized annually by the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union and the Ho Chi Minh City National University in order to encourage research, creativity, and scientific research of students. Students still sit in lecture halls of universities and colleges. Based on the training program, the requirements of the output standards, the student’s wishes, and the available potential of the subject research subject and effective learning models and career applicability.
Besides, the lecturer of the Department is the chairman of the Academic Club of Finance – Banking (TC-NH). This club was born with the mission of creating a dynamic, professional environment and providing opportunities for students to improve and perfect their specialized knowledge, creating an academic forum and sharing environment. knowledge and practical experience to support the study, research, knowledge accumulation, and work experience for students upon graduation.
